I’m so proud of my young students and their FIRST EXHIBITION! I spent a week in the studio with 12 young artists aged 6-11 yrs during spring break. Together they created 72 pieces of exhibition ready artwork, WOW! Not being biased at all, but I think they are absolutely fabulous!
If you have a young child and live in the Tricities area – I highly recommend bringing them to the exhibit at The Port Moody Arts Centre for some youthful inspiration! Exhibit is up until April 21, 2016

Hope to see some of my community out to visit the exhibition! Let me know what you think!

“Bottle and Brush” Solo Exhibition
I’ve been inspired by my new surroundings. Just recently moved studio/home to Port Coquitlam which ignited the creativity for these pieces for the upcoming show titled “Bottle & Brush”. There is the most beautiful slough just a bike ride away from my studio that inspired me the first day I visited. I’ve been combining representational work with abstract and thought De Boville was the perfect subject matter for my last three paintings in this exhibition series. The exhibition is being held at Vancity in Suterbrook (Port Moody) and will be up from March 11 – July 19. Pop in and check it out if you get a chance!

Instructor’s Exhibition at The Port Moody Arts Centre
Once again I am so happy to be exhibiting my work as an Instructor at this wonderful Arts Centre! The Instructor’s Exhibition happens every second year and this is my second time participating. It is a great opportunity to see what the Instructor’s are doing during their personal studio time, be inspired and check it out… sign up for a class or purchase some art for your home (or both!)
These are some of the works I have on exhibit right now; I have 20 pieces in total spread throughout the gallery space, alongside some very talented co-workers!
The show runs until Feb 11 2016.

"Double Life" - A Pentimenti Group Show opened last Thursday (July 23) and I still get excited every time I pass through the gallery on my way up to teach class. Janice Cotter did an amazing job grouping all six of our diverse styles together for a visually cohesive and stunning show - THANKS JANICE! The show is receiving lots of attention and the pieces are selling (Bonus!) Hard work pays off. I am so proud of my fellow Pentimenti group painters - and really look forward to our future group exhibits! Show runs until August 20, 2015 - check it out if you can.

Spring - a perfect time to start the big floral works!
After several hours (actually days) of mixing I was all set to pour and create! I'm super happy with the works, maybe it is because I can't wait to see all the flowers bloom outside in the garden. I've basically created my imaginary garden and brought it to life with paint! It's a little preview of what nature is about to bring!

My First Blog Entry - Wow! I'm not exactly sure how it all works so I am just diving in and typing. Today I am prepping boards for a series of floral poured works; I'm looking forward to creating works from this series for the upcoming summer "Double Life" exhibit at The Port Moody Arts Centre with our Pentimenti Artist Group - Opening July 23, 2015.

So far I have only worked small-scale with the floral theme like this tiny 8"x8" wood panel. It has been necessary in order to experiment and control all the variables that arise with poured work especially pieces that are intended to be visibly representative.

I am excited to go for the gusto this week - work larger and take on the challenge!

Also kind of excited about this blog, I'll see how it goes. But for now, back to the GAC 100, gesso & sandpaper!
